Providers: Why Quality Matters
BridgeHealth believes that identifying, partnering with and tracking outcomes from high quality providers are essential to the integrity of a Centers of Excellence program. By partnering with facilities with superior clinical outcomes, robust patient volumes and high levels of patient satisfaction, BridgeHealth not only meets, but also exceeds, a patient's expectations and needs.
In addition to our own due diligence and on-site facility reviews, we also rely on the judgment of objective third party sources such as The Delta Group. The following is a brief overview of a powerful quality tool from The Delta Group called CareChex®. As outlined below, CareChex® incorporates seven (7) peer-reviewed methodologies that specifically address key components of the quality of inpatient care.
Quality Methodologies Measuring Medical Outcomes
CareChex® is one of BridgeHealth's primary tools for assessing clinical outcomes and it incorporates seven (7) peer-reviewed methodologies that specifically address key components of the quality of inpatient care. These methods encompass the following quality measures, many of which have been adopted by the Hospital Quality Alliance (HQA) and Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) for public reporting:
- Core Process Measure
- Patient Safety Indicators
- Inpatient Quality Indicators
- Mortality Rates
- Complication Rates
- Readmission Rates
- Patient Satisfaction Measures
Rating System
CareChex® evaluates the previous indicators and each hospital is given a checked rated score based on its standing amongst the other 2,000 (approximately) hospitals in the US. BridgeHealth hospitals must fall into the top two categories.
